How Does It Work?
Alright, so let's say that you lost your iPhone. It would be quite a bummer, but now that you know about PhireWare's LostMyPhone web service, there's no need to worry anymore! As long as you have the Prowl app on your iPhone you're all set! Simply open up any web browser and type in phireware.com/LostMyPhone and just fill in the form! Your iPhone will then display a message such as the image below and will let whoever finds it know what to do with it. That way they can do a good deed and you get you iPhone back. Pretty neat huh?
What Do I Need to Do?
All you need to do in order for it to work is have the Prowl App and a Prowl Username and Password. In order to register visit this page and signup for the free account. If you already have a prowl account and the iPhone app, click on the upper tab "Alert My iPhone!" to test it out!
What Does it Require?
In order for LostMyPhone to work, you must have:
- -An iPhone or iPod Touch
- -The Prowl iPhone App
- -A Prowl User Account
In order to register for Prowl visit their registration page here. You also need the Prowl iPhone app from the App Store. If you don't have it, click here to get it. Once you have it and the Prowl settings have been set, click the above tab "Alert My iPhone" to try it out. If everything was correct your iPhone should recieve an alert message.
What is LostMyPhone?
Simply enter your prowl username and password, as well as a message for the person who finds your phone to read. It could be something like, "Lost my iPhone, if you find it please email me user@example.com" Below are screen shots of what your iPhone will look like with the message.
